Both existing premises and post-fire reviews are undertaken. This involves identifying the applicable legislation in relation to the risk profile of the premises and then assessing compliance regarding the following:
- The approved building plans or fire design for the premises including any deviations or significant alterations which may affect compliance with the National Building Regulations;
- Availability of occupancy certificates or approval for occupancy;
- Relevant local authority fire safety By-laws;
- Fire safety requirements in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act with specific reference to the General Safety Regulations, Vessels Under Pressure Regulations and Environmental Regulations for Workplaces.
All legal compliance reviews are supported by an appropriate report detailing the level of compliance and any necessary improvement recommendations to encourage full compliance.
