Information can be obtained from the centre in person or by postal, telephonic, faxed or electronic enquiry.

The Information Resource Centre handles in excess of 580 technical enquiries annually, ranging from:

• Buyers guide enquiries.
• FPASA general information.
• National fire loss statistics.
• Fire reports.
• Fire protection, fire safety and storage recommendations.
• Material safety data sheets for hazardous materials and chemicals.
• Legislation, codes and standards pertaining to building regulations, fire safety and fire-fighting equipment and systems.

Enquiries are handled professionally. Information not available in South Africa is sourced internationally or clients are referred to subject specialists.

FPASA Fire Information Resource Centre library catalogue on the Internet

The library's catalogue is live and searchable on the FPASA website. This is a unique service to corporate members.

• Corporate members are issued with a user name and password that allows access to the online bibliographic catalogue, 24 hours per day.
• Browse for the information needed and e-mail requests for articles to the fire information centre. Information will be dispatched on the next working day.
