ANNUAL FIRE-FIGHTING COMPETITION - 2010

RULES OF THE DAY

 

·        Safety first.

·        Registration will be between 08:00 and 08:30 at the registration official’s workstation in the tent.

·        No jewellery (watches included) to be worn during evolutions.

 

 

JUDGES

 

·        Independent judges will adjudicate the competition.

·        The Chief Judge’s decision is final.

·        Judging will take place on a time basis and penalty times added.

·       The three (3) drills’ times will be added together and the three (3) fastest overall times will be determined.

·        Final results will be announced at prize giving.

 

 

ALCOHOL

 

No alcohol will be consumed on the FPASA premises. If any member of a team is found guilty of this, it will lead to the disqualification of the team.

 

 

Fire Team Competition

PARTICIPATION

 

·        A fire team consists of five (5) members (4 team members and 1 team leader).

·       The team leader must complete the registration form at the registration desk on arrival at FPASA premises.

·        Team members must be allocated to the extinguisher drills during registration.

·        Each team member must sign an indemnity form during registration.

·        Indemnity forms are available electronically for completion before the day of the competition.

 

 

 PROTECTIVE CLOTHING 

·        Overalls, safety shoes and gloves need to be worn during the hose drill.

·        Helmets are not necessary.

·        Each team needs to provide full protective clothing for the extinguisher evolutions. 

 

 

Fire Marshal Competition

 

 

PARTICIPATION 

·        A single person has to complete all three drills successfully.

·        No external assistance will be allowed at any time.

·        The participant must complete the registration form at the registration desk on arrival at FPASA premises.

·        The participant must sign an indemnity form during registration.

·        Indemnity forms are available electronically for completion before the day of the competition.

 

 

PROTECTIVE CLOTHING

·        No shorts, short skirts or open shoes are allowed for the extinguisher and hose reel drills.

·        A dust coat will be provided for the extinguisher drill.

·        No other protective clothing is necessary.
