ECSA Fire Protection System Practitioner (FPSP) - InFIReS 2018
John Cato, Executive Head of Policy Development at the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA), explained the registration process for all Fire Protection System Practitioners (FPSP). This process applies to those in the field of sprinklers, gas suppression and detection. This topic was particularly interesting to insurers since it means that the Engineering Council will now start regulating the field. Registrations will open in June for select categories.

Sea Water as a Means of Fighting Fire - InFIReS 2018
Mr. Lenny Naidoo, Chief Fire Officer, of Engen Petroleum Company was gracious enough to present to the enthusiastic crowd at FPASA's annual InFIReS Seminar 2018 on the merits of using sea water for fire fighting. Engen has for many years perfected its state of the art sea water reticulation system dedicated to fire fighting.
